Eating out has increased the corona epidemic

A recent study revealed that eating out and going to restaurants lead to a significant increase in the number of new infections, while shopkeepers say they have suffered heavy losses.

A study by the University of Warwick in the United Kingdom revealed that there had been a marked increase in corona cases a week after the start of a government programme that encouraged people to eat abroad. Last August, the British government launched a restaurant support programme called “All Abroad to Help”, by paying half the bill for each customer.

The Government has allocated this support to restaurant customers on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, in an effort to revive the restaurant, café and pub sector. The researchers reported that between 8 and 17 percent of the new infected groups are associated with the restaurant support program, so people are more likely to eat outside than stay at home. According to academic Tymo Weitzer, this government program, which had limited economic benefits, contributed to the rise of the second wave of coronavirus,

Several governments around the world impose severe restrictions on restaurants, such as taking into account social spacing and significantly reducing capacity among customers. But the owners of some restaurants say they suffer heavy losses from simply delivering or opening their doors to a limited number of customers, while they have to pay many bills in addition to workers’ wages.

Despite the imposition of social spacing measures, experts say that preventing corona becomes difficult within restaurants, as people have to take off their muzzles while eating or drinking, smoking and breathing around.
